Dungeon’s and Dragon’s, better known as DND, is a game where you can create characters to travel all different fantastical worlds where the only limit is your imagination. DND is a fun and easy game to learn and to play, where any group of people can come together and play along.

Junior Dianelys Ramos said “DND is a great game of life, I guess. A game where every choice you make has consequences, whether that be good or bad. even with that, everything is by chance which is an interesting premise for storytelling.”

Character creation is something that can differ from player to player. To start, a player must decide on the character’s race like human, elf, or orcs just to name a few. Classes are another component which gives your character’s their bonus to their stats or, which are a variety of abilities and spells. Depending on what the player wants to specialize in, for example, fighters are the basic physical class dealing good amounts of damage but no spells. On the other hand, classes like warlocks have a variety of magical spells and abilities but are not good in physical combat. Once class and race are chosen next thing you must do is roll for stats.

Ms. Victoria Eaton said “This is probably my favorite part of DND – creating characters. There are so many variations and combinations, no two characters are alike. I currently play a Rogue Tabaxi, which is basically a cat-person who is super sneaky. When I was creating this character, I was able to pick from so many cool attributes to create the perfect character for me. Our group is full of different characters and they all have their quirks.”

Players are not the only people who play as dungeon masters better known as dm’s in the DND, community dm’s are the ones that create the world’s that you play in. DM’s make the world story’s and the NPS that players will be running in to during you’re adventures for example, one game of DND could be in a fantasy stetting with dragons, monsters and knights or it could be a futuristic stetting, with space with advanced technology, or you can create other worlds in media, and books can also be made into a story for DND it’s all the imagination of the dm.

Junior Dianelys Ramon said “DMing is fun because I like to make my own stories. Writing them and throwing different people into the mix and seeing how they react to the world around them is quite amusing to me. Making the story and see how players react and interpret it is just big, funky ride.”

Besides all the components of DND, it is still a game of communication and cooperation with DM’s and players to make the fantastical worlds so that anybody can play along with their friends and have fun.

Creator of Dungeon and Dragons Gary Gygax said “Role-playing games are contests in which the players usually cooperate as a group to achieve a common goal rather than compete to eliminate one another from play…. Role games … bring players together in a mutual effort.”
