17 Acts Of Kindness

17+Acts+Of+Kindness

The 17 Acts of Kindness initiative started in the Palm Beach County School District as the anniversary of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting approaches. The main goal of the initiative is to promote kindness and turn the tragedy at the school into a positive commemoration of lives that are gone but never forgotten.

The calendar provides a list of activities that is set to last between January 29th to February 14th and represents each one of the victims of the shooting. Each school is encouraged to participate in the initiative as the one year anniversary on Valentine’s Day approaches and pay tribute to the 17 lives lost. While the list of activities varies between schools most maintain similar or the same acts per each day; the one attached was released by Charter Schools USA.

As the 17 days progress, those who participate are encouraged to share their acts on social media to inspire others to join the movement too. Participants can share their acts using #17ActsofKindness and attach a photo of their acts in their posts.
