Last Friday students from 7th and 8th grade attended their last dance of this school year and shared their experiences.

Some students had an unpleasant time before the dance and during their getting ready process and felt the pressure of the night.

“Getting ready was a stressful process, that’s for sure, it was worst for me because I got there late, but it was quite a stressful time, thinking about getting there and making sure I look good, not looking like wreckage,” Pierre said.

Arriving at the dance some students enjoyed the music of that night and found that the Dj was able to create a good set of songs.

“I think it was pretty fun, it was really organized, the Dj was very good with it, we were all just jamming together and there was a conga line near the end, I had fun, it was very enjoyable,”8th grader Jerika Pierre said.

Others had an issue with the lack of diversity and might have enjoyed a more assorted playlist including different tastes.

“The dance alright but I believe they could have played better music, they played old throwback songs and that’s personally not my style and I feel like they could have played more rap and Spanish songs that are more popular right now, the kind of song me and my friends like better,”8th grader Jeweveliz Cora said.

The court voted by students was presented during the dance and the winners were given a moment of celebration where they received their gifted titles.

“I felt good about winning queen because it was something I did, and it made me proud, and I told a lot of people to vote for me and know people so that helped me and the dance was really good overall, I had so much fun,” 8th grader Alanys Cuadrado said.

Food and drinks were displayed, and most students thought the options were able to fulfill their expectations.

“Although they did cost us money, I think the students’ options for drinks and food were pretty good, at least that’s what I expected at a dance, “Pierre said.

Many students had a special moment of the night that they cherished the most between them and all the other special moments they experienced.

“My favorite part was when everyone gathered around to dance to the Cupid Shuffle and we were all just dancing together, it was a nice relief from all the work we do in the school year, “Pierre said.

Some students find that their expectations were not met, especially regarding the decoration and theme of the dance.

“There was not as much decorations as I expected, because it was an enchanted theme, and I expected a more elaborated thing, but it looked like a regular formal instead of what the theme was so that was bummer.” Pierre said.

At the end of the night the students had danced away the time and enjoyed their last dance of the year united with their friends.

“My favorite part was getting to hang out with my friends and enjoy our last dance, and the little train that we did in the end with everyone together just having a good time,”7th grader Gabriela Gomes said.
