The final middle school volleyball game of this season has taken place. The last game is always an emotional one so the MS Volleyball team share how they felt about the season.
Coach Lesha Colon Ramos has been playing volleyball for 9 years, including playing for Four Corners. This is Ramos’ first time coaching, and she shares how she feels about the team and their last game of the season.
“Definitely I’m nervous cause I know that they are still young, and they tend to get in their heads a lot. I know that have they have the potential, and they definitely have the talent and skills to win. I’m hoping for the best and I hope I trained them well,” Ramos said.
Despite the team getting in their heads a lot, Ramos has seen improvement within the team. She states that the team has improved with their passes and serves.
“I had a lot of kids not being able to pass correctly. Now, I have a bunch of kids passing and serving a lot better than they used to when they first came in,” Ramos said.
Not only does Ramos feel good about the team, 8th grader, Nylah Price views the team as a family. Additionally, Price shares that she is nervous for the game and hopes to push through it along with the rest of her teammates.
“I feel really good about my team. I feel like we’ve made a family at the school from getting to know each other and playing games with each other. For the last game, I feel anxious and kind of nervous for it. I want to end the season off with a win, so I hope my team pushes through it,” Price said.
Price says that playing volleyball makes her feel happy. She also plans to make volleyball a career for when she grows older.
“I like playing volleyball because it makes me happy and it’s something that I am thinking of doing when I get older as a professional player,” Price said.
