Being a teacher was definitely NOT in the plans. I don’t think it really hit me until I actually started teaching during my first couple of months at Four Corners. I was picking up work as a substitute teacher at my alma mater high school, which is where a lot of the teachers that I was blessed to have during my high school years were still working at. They could see something in me that I would continuously deny. They noticed how easy it was for me to connect with them
I earned my Associate of Arts in Exercise Science from Santa Fe College in Gainesville, FL. That was probably one of the most challenging times in my college career in terms of my mental health. I transferred to the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, FL in hopes of attending PA school following the completion of my undergraduate studies, but I realized that my heart was not in it. Eventually, I switched over to the public health program and minored in health education and I ended up falling in love with it
