” I was born in Brooklyn New York, but I moved to Ecuador when I was six. I miss my family and the food, especially shrimp ceviche. I graduated from Computer Science and later studied for a year in foreign trade. From there I moved to the U.S and took a medical assistant program in college. I started working in hospitals first but then I came to this school as a substitute teacher. Then I worked in the front office for a bit, and finally I became a science teacher. I never thought about teaching a different subject, but I do wish I had the opportunity to teach all courses related to medical assistance in this school. The students inspire me. Each time I see just one student learning quickly, or being interested in what I teach, it makes me feel like I’m doing it right. Many things have changed throughout the years, but I feel like I learned to put myself first. If one isn’t okay with oneself, you won’t be able to help others. I want to tell the students that there’s time for everything; they should prepare for the future because everything requires a plan.
