“When I moved to the U.S with my mom from Columbia, I was the only one who knew English, which put me immediately in charge of those “grown-up” tasks such as reading documents, emailing companies, and helping her decipher legal issues. In the beginning, it was just a chore, but slowly I realized how much I cared about supporting others, which inspired me to pursue a career in law.
People in this field are often seen as corrupt, greedy, and money-hungry, which is why I would like to make a change and make my clients feel like I truly care about them and their cases. People usually go to lawyers in defining moments of their lives where every detail could change their path in life whether it’s about a crime they were accused of, a divorce, getting citizenship, starting a business, solving problems in the workspace. I believe every case is important and I would like to be that person that clients can rely on in those person that clients can rely on in those defining moments to make sure their voices are being heard and issues being solved,”senior Valentina Nino.
