The wait is finally over for football fans all over the world with the 2025-2026 National Football League (NFL) kick off. It has been seven months since fans got to watch the NFL, but now they can watch and enjoy the start of this exciting new football season.
With the very first week of the 2025 NFL season all wrapped up, here is a recap of the very entertaining games that went down. All 32 teams got to play their first games of the season meaning several wins and losses all occurring in one week. The first kickoff game of the 2025 NFL season took place in the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and took place on Sept. 4th, 2025. The Thursday night football game went down between the Dallas Cowboys and the reigning Super bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.
The season opener had an intense and thrilling ending with both teams putting on hard-fought performances. Finally, after a long back and forth game between the two teams, the Philadelphia Eagles took the victory, winning 24-20 against the division rival Dallas Cowboys. A wild game which ended in Dallas coming up short after the team’s wide receiver, Ceedee Lamb missed crucial catches at the end of the game resulting in the Cowboys loss.
An interesting moment took place at the start of the game happened when Philadelphia Eagles star Defensive Tackle, Jalen Carter got ejected and thrown out of the game for spitting on Dallas Cowboys Quarterback, Dak Prescott right after the two exchanged some words during an injury timeout. Carter got the best of himself, and being one of the most important pieces of the Philadelphia Eagles defense, this was a very costly mistake that almost resulted in a loss due to his actions. Even after the Eagles faced Carters ejection and an hour-long weather delay, they were still able to pull off the win. Now, they are heading on the road, with a win under their belt, to face the Kansas City Chiefs in a Super-bowl 59 rematch game in Kansas City, Missouri for the week two game.
The second NFL game of the season took place on Friday night and was hosted the in Sào Paulo, Brazil between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers. The game was played very well by both the Charger and the Chiefs, but unfortunately the Chargers could not be stopped, and the Chiefs ended the game with a loss. The Chargers won 27-21 and it was the first time they had beat the Chiefs since the 2021 season.
The Friday Night game in Sào Paulo, Brazil had also had a halftime show performance by Grammy Award Winner, Columbian Pop star, Karol G.The Halftime Performance lasted less than ten minutes after being criticized and second guessed by people around the world, Karol G left fans shocked by having such an outstanding performance that came with a well-produced show including unique dances well as designs being featured in the performance.
After the Thursday and Friday night games, the NFL continued Sunday with the exciting and intense games being played all day and night, as well as the Monday night game between the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago bears. The teams this week did well with displaying their big wins and unfortunate losses for fans to watch and enjoy with everyone being proud to say that the NFL is officially back. Fans around the world can now look forward to their weeks enjoying some exciting American football that never fails to entertain or disappoint the fans watching.
