‘Removing their face masks to put on another, the students attended their masquerade themed 2022 homecoming, the first event in nearly two years.

Since their sophomore year when the lockdown first occurred, the senior class of 2022 feared all their future events would be stripped from them. Not knowing what events may take place when they return.

“It felt better cause its’ been so long since our class has actually done something because of Covid,” Senior Joey Louis said.

With the senior class of 2021 having lost their homecoming and prom, which triggered anxiety for the following class, not knowing what events they would have. Soon the seniors’ anxiety was replaced with excitement as the night went on.

“Homecoming definitely was successful, I wasn’t expecting that many people to pop out, but the people that were there definitely made it fun and something to remember,” Senior Class President Jaonie Gerado said.

Due to the pandemic, the senior class of 2022 shares a unique, individual bond that makes any event they have extremely memorable. Starting the new year with a homecoming leaves the seniors wondering what this year’s prom has in store for them, especially for one member of the homecoming court.

“I enjoyed it, I liked having the—I’m not saying the appreciation, but it felt nice, being noticed. I have been behind the scenes for a while no cap, I just be doing stuff. But yeah, it felt good to be out and-about for once,” Senior Homecoming King Joey Louis said.
