With the arrival of February also comes Black History Month and to celebrate Four Corners Upper School (FCUS) is hosting a Black History Month spirit week. Students will have all next week to dress up on theme and celebrate black history.
On Monday, Feb. 23rd students are repping their culture; students can create any outfit that represents their heritage. Find any piece of clothing that stands for your culture and wear it to represent.
Tuesday, Feb. 24th is celebrating Historically Black Colleges & Universities. Each grade will have their own set of colors to wear for the week. 6th grade black and red,
7th grade purple and orange, 8th grade orange and blue, 9th grade gold and blue, 10th grade blue and red, 11th grade maroon and gold, 12th grade orange and green.
On Wednesday, Feb. 25th students will be dressing up like a historical black figure. Find any influential black figure you want to dress like; it can be an artist, politician, historian, and any influential black figure.
On Thursday Feb. 26th students will be able to dress like someone straight from the 2000s, Try to come in your most flashy and baggy outfit.
On Friday, Feb. 27th, students will be able to wear black, brown, beige, tan, and cream colors to celebrate unity, diversity, and the beauty of all shades.
Black history month is full of representation and culture; it’s a beautiful thing to learn about. Dress and show off your school spirit while celebrating black history.
